We've been getting some questions about our new approach to no-till gardening at the Grow-to-Give Garden. The idea behind layering compost and mulch is that it allows the microorganisms to thrive in the soil - and that in turn allows our crops to thrive. You can read a short summary of the idea in this New York Times article.
On Tuesday we planted a lot of greens - kale, lettuce, spring broccoli raab, and some radishes. We are a bit behind, but we are sure they will catch up. This Saturday we will be putting finishing touches on the drip irrigation and laying down some beds around the edge of the garden!
Regular workdays in the Grow-to-Give Garden are ongoing! Like last year, we will meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Garden. You can sign up here.
