Sports Equipment Drive for the Gerald J. Ryan Summer Camp in Wyandanch

In a further effort to support the incredible work they do, we are conducting a sports equipment and games drive for the Gerald J. Ryan Summer Camp in Wyandanch. The camp which has served the community for over 30 years, typically enrolls 100+ children, grades 1 – 6. This year due to covid and funding challenges, they are accepting 50 children, grades 3-6. The camp provides academic support along with creative and positive activities for children, many who would have no other option for summer fun.
The drive runs June 3rd - June 19th.
Below please find a list of requested items. They can be new or gently used.
footballs, kick balls, basketballs
jump ropes, skipper balls
board games such as Connect 4, Uno.

New items can be direct shipped via Amazon to -
Gerald J. Ryan Outreach Center - attention Naycha Florival
1434 Straight Path
Wyandanch, New York, 11798

Please bring your donations to Bleecker Hall on June 5th or 12th before the 10:00 service or during Coffee Hour. Volunteers will be there to receive your items. If delivery on the Sundays isn’t possible, you may leave items in the outer vestibule of Bleecker Hall in a collection box through June 12th.
Volunteers are needed after both 10 am services to help sort, pack and bag items. Additionally, we will need volunteers to deliver donations, help unload and store them with direction from the Gerald Ryan staff.

Thank you! Volunteers? Questions? Please contact Laura Swiggett or Ellen Hatch, [email protected].

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.
