Slow down to move forward
Thank you all for the supportive thoughts and prayers for our Vestry and parish leadership as we gathered in retreat this past weekend.
Jim Lemler, our retreat leader, did an outstanding job of leading the team through a program focused on congregational vitality and development and generosity and stewardship. Jim then met on Sunday with our stewardship and engagement committees to focus on the action steps needed to help our leadership confidently move into the next phase of our life together. More groups will be invited into this conversation as time and opportunity allow, but a good start was made this weekend.
Much of the weekend was spent reflecting on how we are individuals experience the transformative love of God in prayer, worship and community and how we, as a community, expand that transformative love through acts of service and leadership in our community. It is clear that we all have much to proud of and much to build upon - generations of capable and able leadership have brought us to this exciting moment.
It is so clear to all that we have an incredibly gifted leadership team who are conscientious, thoughtful, open and willing. We all left the retreat excited about the work that stands ahead of us to help our parish grow and thrive in the coming period.
We look forward to sharing more about the retreat informally and formally as we move forward together and we all thank Jim for his inspiring witness.
