Meditation Garden Dedication Video

On June 24th, many of us gathered to dedicate our beautiful new Meditation Garden. It was a glorious day, and those of us who could be there were moved by Steve’s loving tribute to Irene and the thoughtfulness and beauty of the garden.

Michael Fairchild captured much of the spirit of that afternoon in a beautiful video that recaps the event. It is linked below and we hope many of you will take a moment to watch it.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
